Defence and Security Director (USA) $88,000 - $95,000 Per Annum

The position requires a highly motivated team player with relevant local industry and/or government experience. The candidate will be required to develop productive senior level business and industry networks within the defence and security sectors in respective priority markets. An understanding of Australia's defence industry policy agenda is highly desirable.

    Location: Washington DC or San Francisco, USA
    Commencement Salary: USD 88,000 - 95,000 depending on location

This position plays a key role in identifying market trends, and developing and promoting trade opportunities for Australian companies in the defence and security industries.

The geographic coverage of this role is the United States and other markets in the Americas as agreed from time to time between Austrade and Defence, and could be based in one of Austrade's US posts as negotiated between the successful candidate and Austrade.

The successful applicant must be fluent in written and spoken English, and willing to undergo a security clearance to the level of Overseas Engaged Employee - Entry Level as a condition of employment.

This is a locally-engaged position governed by Austrade’s Overseas Engaged Employees terms and conditions of employment and the US labour law. Candidates must currently have the right to live and legally work in the USA. Austrade will not be able to provide any sponsorship letter nor be directly involved in the work visa application process.
